Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd. is a listed company integrating copper mining, smelting, processing and trading. It was established with the approval of Anhui Provincial Commission of economic restructuring in June 1992 and listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange in November 1996. It is the first copper enterprise to issue shares in China. The company is located in Tongling City, Anhui Province, which is known as "the ancient copper capital of China". It is the earliest copper industrial base established in New China.
Jinchang Smelter of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd. (the former No.2 smelter of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., located in the circular economy industrial experimental Park of Tongling City, Anhui Province. It is located in the combination zone of low mountains and hills in Southern Anhui Province and plain along the river. It is 1.5km away from the Yangtze River in the west, adjacent to Tongling County, 4km away from Tongling City in the southeast and 15km away from Tongling port. The plant was built and put into operation in 1978. It is a comprehensive metallurgical and chemical enterprise which mainly produces electrolytic copper, by-product industrial sulfuric acid and recovers gold and silver and other products. Jinchang Smelter uses copper concentrate as raw material and adopts the production process of "Austria furnace smelting PS converter blowing anode furnace refining small plate electrolysis". In 2008, the output of copper ore is 150000 tons and the output of sulfuric acid is 565500 tons.
